First Fibre Club Arrival

No photo to post yet- as I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone in the club who hasn't been lucky enough to receive their parcel yet...mine arrived today and Woo Hoo! another SOFT, lovely creation from our friend Mandie. I am so excited to start spinning this- and the extra bit is perfect for the current popular trend ( or so it appears to me) and is a welcome surprise addition- just brilliant Miss Mandie! ( like I'd ever doubt you ! :) ) Thanks for making the club a fun addtion to my day. :)

PS.) Please give my thanks to your Wool Dude- he is AWESOME!

Mine arrived yesterday, fantastic, thanks Mandie, Sharon I now understand your comment about the extra bit! Very apt, very welcome. Now to determine the 'best' way to work with it. Wonderful days ahead.

YAY Margaret! I am so glad you commented ~ I was starting to wonder if I was the only person in the club! lol
Send me some hints on how you work with the 'extra bit",please? After taking the time to really think on what I have- I realise I am clueless as to what to do to combine without losing the colourway.

Thanks again for writing in- I look forward to seeing your finished creation.

Hi Sharon,
My first thoughts are to strip the wool roving lengthwise into workable amounts (usual method) and to break the "extra bit" into individual colours crosswise. Then, as the wool is spun and changing colour add a tinsy-winsy bit of the extra stuff of the appropriate colour. If you have tools then that can add another dimension, but this way I think it would retain the colourway of the roving as received.
I won't be starting mine for a couple of weeks as we are beginning our drive from QLD to Tas on Saturday and I have been planning to knit the Gotland on the trip.

Oh! I like that idea- thank you for sharing- that makes the most sense...the extra bit done in strips 'across' is a great idea!

I sure do hope your move to Tasmania is a good one....and of course I wish you easy packing and unpacking- may all your boxes end up in the right rooms with everything in the same condition as it left! :)

YAY Cathie!
So glad you have yours now. It will be interesting to see how each of us spins this ( how many of us are there? )
I am still debating... use the nylon or not?.... sock yarn or not?....?
I've never spun Polwarth before- so am looking forward to seeing how lovely it spins up... by touch I would def. buy more of it.
